Talking stages have to be one of the worst and best feelings known to man.
They are so fun when you first start talking. When you get butterflies everytime you get a message. And the sense of knowing you like each other but are too scared to make a move. But then there's the in between stages. Where you guys text every night but not during the day. Or when you text like friends so you don't actually know that you're in a talking stage. Honestly they might be more work then actually having a bf. You have to make sure to stay interested, but not too interested, because it's weird to text every waking second of the day if you're not dating. You have to do your makeup when you're otp with them or turn on the 24 hr pink screen on your TV to make yourself look pretty. And then there's the awkward TikTok and Insta reels sending stage where you don't exactly know each other's humor but your trying to start up conversations. But sometimes it feels so great not to be fully attached to someone but to have someone to talk to when your bored. You also don't have to dedicate the whole week to them and just have casual hangouts. But when your talking stage is posted up with a new girl and she comments "π₯π₯π₯" on his post you cant act crazy and tell him to block her because "you're not even dating". ALSO not talking about your feelings and not having a label so you don't know if you guys are on the same page. They are SOOO exhausting.
The reason I bring this up is because I was in a talking stage with this guy, let's call him brad. So Brad was my brothers, best friend's, brother. ( Sorry ik that's confusing). But his mom and my my are also best friends and our brothers used to play soccer together. So naturally we would have to talk to each other because its awk if we don't. One day he added me on snap and we started talking more and more after that. At first it was casual friend getting to know each other type stuff. But then we started to text each other more and more and got more comfortable. We started calling and he would constantly send me ab pics for some reason... But one day he just stopped texting me. And he wasn't active on snap at all. So I assumed he got it taken away or something. then after like 2 months he starts being active again and doesn't even think to text me and tell me what happened. And at this point I hadn't seen him in person since we first started talking because I wasn't really going to my brothers soccer games. So then I see he's posted up with a bunch of girls I know from school and keeps posting TikToks with them. So naturally I blocked him because wtf?? Then after I blocked him we ended up moving to California so I thought I was never gonna see him again. But my brother is on a new team and he has a tournament in San Diego. And guess who's team he's playing against. HIS OLD TEAM. With Brad's brother on it. So ofc my mom wants to hang out with them which means I'm gonna have to see him in person again. I don't know what to do, It's going to be the most awkward interaction of my life.
